Last Updated on July 11, 2022 by Sam

One of the biggest birds in Ark Survival Evolved is the Quetzalcoatlus, or Quetzal as it is most generally known. Quetzal has always been a very sought-after tame because to its size, and this is still the case with the recently launched Ark Fjordur addition.

This tutorial will show you where it is on the new Fjordur map and describe how to tame the Quetzal if you want to tame one of your own in Ark Fjordur and construct a mobile base on its back.

Ark Fjordur Quetzal Location and Taming

Where to find Quetzals on Fjordur

I will show you three locations where you can find quetzals on the island of Fjordur. Once you get to these spots, you will need to look around. The first spawn location can be found at coordinates 41.9 and 76.2. The second location is located at coordinates 75.6 and 27.1. The last location is 07.3 and 24.8.

  • 75.6°Latitude, 27.1°Longitude
  • 41.9° Latitude, 76.2° Longitude
  • 07.3° Latitude, 24.8° Longitude

These locations are not always accurate. Because quetzals are not spawned in the same place every time.

How to Tame Quetzal in Ark Fjordur

The Quetzal is a beast that is tough to get, but once you have one, taming it is not a very challenging procedure.

The following is a list of foods that may be used to help you get control of your Quetzal:

  • Exceptional Kibble
  • Raw Mutton
  • Raw Prime Meat
  • Cooked Lamb Chop
  • Cooked Prime Meat

You will also need 300 narcotics each hour for the taming process in addition to food.

Utilizing Exceptional Kibble is strongly advised since it tames Quetzal the quickest and uses the fewest resources. You can tame the Quetzal on Exceptional Kibble in anywhere between 29 and 1 hour and 35 minutes, depending on the level of the one you captured.

Quetzal can be tamed in the longest amount of time—between 2 hours, 16 minutes and 7 hours, 22 minutes—if raw meat is used. Once you’ve trained your Quetzal, you’ll be able to make a saddle for it and ride it around, which will make moving around and catching other Quetzals much simpler and safer.

Points To Remember

To finish the taming process, you’ll also need 300 narcotics per hour in addition to food.

We highly suggest using Exceptional Kibble since it allows you to tame Quetzal in the quickest amount of time and uses the least amount of resources. Depending on the level of the caught Quetzal and how long it took you to catch it, you can tame a Quetzal on Exceptional Kibble in anywhere between 29 and 1 hour and 35 minutes.

The longest length of time—between 2 hours and 16 minutes and 7 hours and 22 minutes—is required to train Quetzal when you use raw meat.
