The Empty Cup, which players first used to satisfy their thirst, has been replaced by the Empty Bottle, also known as the Water Bottle. Fresh water or salt water may be used to fill it. Its capacity of five units of water is a considerable increase over the Empty Cup’s capacity of only one unit. Until the player decides to upgrade to the canteen, the water bottle will serve as their main water container.
Players will often be able to build the Water Bottle in the early to midgame as it takes Vine Goo to do so.

You simply need six plastics and four vine goo to make one. Plastics can be obtained from the sea as they’re floating around.
