The two main crafting currencies are Plasteel and Diamantine. Plasteel, the most common crafting item, can be found on all maps lying on the ground. It can also be looted from storage boxes. They are usually available on most mission-difficulty missions so players can get them as soon and reliably as possible.

On the other hand, Diamantine is very rare, especially for level 2 missions. For level 2 players can expect to get around five, while for higher-level missions you can get much more. This currency is more difficult to obtain and will be used to upgrade your items to master-crafted and Militarum qualities, which are necessary to upgrade those weapons and curios that you buy from the store with good stats.

WHERE TO FIND PLASTEEL AND DIAMANTINE

You will need Plasteel and Diamantine to consecrate your weaponry. These can be found in missions in containers or lying around marked with a crafting icon. The good news is that all crafting materials picked up the count for everyone within the squad so you don’t have to keep them for yourself. You are more likely to find crafting materials at higher difficulty levels. I have not seen any Diamantine in Sedition difficulty missions.

Although it might seem like a lot of crafting materials you need to farm to consecrate, this is not the case. I upgraded my chain word from blue to orange by playing Malice’s difficulty mission and looking out for Plasteel and Diamantine stashes. You’re more likely to find crafting materials if you are actively searching for grimoires or scriptures.
