In God of War Ragnarok, armor is a very important piece of gear. It usually boosts your Strength and Defense, but sometimes it boosts other stats as well. Many armor pieces also give you a perk that gives you an advantage or hurts your enemies. You might like Kratos’ classic look as a shirtless Spartan warrior, but from a strategic point of view, it is a very good idea to cover up his muscular body with some armor.
Is it worth upgrading armor in God of War Ragnarok?
Every time you go to a shop in God of War Ragnarok, you can buy and improve different things, like armor. Most upgrades require both Hacksilver and a certain resource. The higher the level of the upgrade, the more Hacksilver it costs and the rarer the resource it needs. Since this is a God of War game, you’ll be using your weapons a lot, so it makes sense to improve them. But do you also want your armor to be better? In Kratos’s mind, isn’t the best way to defend yourself to attack?
In God of War Ragnarok, you should, in general, upgrade your armor. Almost every upgrade to your armor makes you stronger, so even if you’re a good player who never gets hit, you’ll still be better off with better armor. Many pieces of armor also have bonuses that you can’t use until you’ve upgraded them at least once. These bonuses get stronger the more you upgrade the armor.
Keep in mind, though, that you can only wear one piece of cheat armor, one piece of wrist armor, and one piece of waist armor at a time, so don’t upgrade every piece of armor in your inventory just because you can. Pick a set you like and work on making it better. And if you find a new set that’s really good but maybe not as good as your old upgraded set, it’s usually better to switch to upgrading the new set.
