The TAQ-56 is one of the weapons that clearly dominates the Search and Destroy meta in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, along with other weapons. Since the Kastov-74u is not allowed in most competitions and has even been banned by the Call of Duty League, the Scar has become one of the most popular selections overall.
Even the M4 has a hard time competing with the TAQ-56 at extended ranges, just like the Kastov, which was added to the list of firearms that are prohibited as part of the gentleman’s agreement. Because we want you to be able to easily dominate your own Search and Destroy matches in Modern Warfare 2, we’ll help you construct the finest class possible for the Scar in the game.
Best Search and Destroy Class in COD Modern Warfare 2: TAQ-56
We need a TAQ-56 with the best attachments possible to start things off, or else the rest of the loadout won’t matter. The main goals for this weapon should be to control its recoil, increase its damage range, and give it a little bit of mobility to keep the ADS speed competitive. All of the necessary attachments are listed below.
- Barrel: 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel
- Muzzle: FTAC Castle Comp
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Rear Grip: Demo Cleanshot Grip
- Ammunition: High Velocity
In Search and Destroy, most of these attachments are built into the TAQ-56, but some of them can be moved around. You can switch out the rear grip with the TV Xline Pro. If you also need an optic, add the Cronen Mini Pro and switch out the High Velocity ammunition.
Next, you’ll need your bonuses, which are almost always the same no matter what weapon you’re using. You should have Double Time, Bomb Squad, Fast Hands, and Ghost in your Perk Package. If you’re playing MW2 in a public match, you can try High Alert and Resupply as replacements for the bonus and Ultimate Perk.
All of the equipment is the last part of this Search and Destroy class. Lethals can be the Semtex or the Frag Grenade, but the Frag is much more useful if you can get used to it. Flash Grenades should go in the Tactical slot, but in competitions, Stuns are a good alternative. Now all you need is a good Field Upgrade. Dead Silence is almost always the best and easiest choice. Trophy Systems work well when there is a team or a specific need, but they are harder to use in MW2.
